The important topic of world mission is the subject of a new format of module we are making available over the coming weeks. This will be a guided reading module, starting on Tuesday 16th April and to be concluded by the end of June. There will be extensive notes, set readings and probing questions, with periodic contact with the course guide.

Led by experienced cross-cultural missionary, Dr Keith Ferdinando, the module will focus primarily on exploring the biblical foundations of mission, as follows:

  • An introduction, briefly discussing what is meant by the word mission
  • A survey of the great narrative of Scripture, seeking to draw out the centrality of mission to the story
  • A study of mission in the Old Testament
  • The missions of the Lord Jesus Christ and of the Holy Spirit
  • The Church and mission
  • The practice of mission in the ministry of Paul and its implications for contemporary mission practice
  • Motives for mission
  • The call to mission
  • The necessity of mission

You can simply audit the course and benefit from the teaching, or complete an assignment with a view to gaining some study credits. Full study notes are included in the price, which is £200, but only £150 for the auditing option.

Registration is essential and can be done here. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
