One of the key distinctives of Edinburgh Bible College is that the teaching will be done, not by professional academics but by practitioners; men and women who are, on a day-to-day basis, engaged in a range of ministries. Principal

Ramone became Principal in February 2026, succeeding John Brand who founded the College in 2012. Raised in a home with a Roman Catholic mother and a Lutheran father, Ramone’s upbringing was predominantly Catholic. He always had a steadfast belief in Christ as the Son of God but it was not until his late teens that he began to understand his need to surrender to Christ and receive salvation through faith alone. Going to University aged 18, Ramone received his first Bachelors in Business Administration. Unfortunately, Ramone lost his mother whilst at university so he decided a change of environment would serve him well. Therefore, in his early twenties, Ramone went to live in Southern California with family where he got involved in the Calvary Chapel movement. Returning to the UK in 2007, Ramone attended Bible College in York gaining his first Bachelors in Theology eventually serving at the college. Ramone then spent time on the mission field in various locations including Holland, Romania, Mexico, and Egypt gaining experience working with different cultures, religions, and people living in abject poverty. In 2010 Ramone followed the leading of the Lord to serve at a church plant here in Scotland. He became both the assistant and then associate pastor before moving homes. He and his family then attended a local Baptist church where Ramone served as a deacon for 3 years. During this time Ramone began to experience significant loss of sight. In 2019 Ramone decided to go back to education at Highland Theological College achieving his Bachelor’s with Honours in Theology with an emphasis on Church history. In 2025, he was awarded his MRes (Master of Research by Highland Theological College, for his research on the subject of Robert Bruce of Kinnaird and the Resilience of Presbyterianism in Scotland 1610 – 1637. Married to Sharon, with a daughter and the likelihood two more little ones being adopted, Ramone finds his life extremely busy, but fulfilling as he serves the Lord at the College and as the Pastor of a small fellowship in Kirkcaldy, in East Fife. If there is ever any spare time Ramone very much enjoys fishing, photography, travelling, hillwalking, church history, and sightseeing.

Having founded the College in 2012, and serving as Principal since its beginning, John stepped down in February 2026 but continues to be fully involved in the work, serving as Academic Dean, lecturing and supporting his successor. John was born to missionary parents in India and trusted Christ for salvation while at boarding school there at the age of 11. He later trained at the Bible Training Institute in Glasgow, and then, for 12 years, pastored two Independent Evangelical churches, one in the inner city of London and then one in Liverpool, during some of which time he also served on the UK Council of Africa Inland Mission International (AIM). In 1993 he took on the role of AIM’s Director for Scotland, becoming Director for UK and Europe in 1999. During his 8 years in this position he exercised a Bible teaching ministry throughout UK and Europe and made regular visits to many of AIM’s fields of service in Africa where he was involved in ministering to missionaries and nationals. In 2007, John was appointed Vice-Principal of Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh, becoming Principal in 2009, a position he held until 2012 when he left to spearhead the establishment of EBC. In 2014, he planted a church in West Lothian, Scotland, and when he stood down from that role in 2023 he handed over the pastorate of the fellowship to a former student. As well as continuing to lead the work of the College, John preaches regularly in local churches and at conferences and mentors several men who are preparing for, or are in, ministry. Married to Caroline and with two grown up sons and two grand-daughters, John contributes book reviews and articles to Christian publications, and is author of three books – A Concise Chronology of the Bible, The Bible as it Happened and Mission Matters, which has also been published in Romanian. In the little spare time he has, he enjoys walking, gardening and family history research. John blogs and vlogs at Route66 and posts weekly encouragements for preachers at Barnabas Files.

Adrian’s transition from laser engineer (Heriot-Watt University, PhD, 2000) to theological educator began in 2004 when the church elders commissioned him and Heather to full time ministry training (The Faith Mission Bible College, DipTh, 2006, and Moody Theological Seminary, MDiv, 2010). The Lord has blessed him with the joy of serving through ecclesial and educational leadership in Scotland, and opportunities to grow as a teacher and disciple-maker (London School of Theology, PGDip, 2021). Adrian is married to Heather, worships with Cornerstone St Andrews, coordinates internships with the Chalmers Institute, and pursues a professional interest in character and virtue education.

David grew up in the South East of England in a Christian home. In his early twenties God led him to Africa with African Inland Mission as a Mechanical Engineer to help with the maintenance on a mission station in Central African Republic. This marked a turning point in the direction his life would now take. On his return he headed to Bible College followed by 10 years pastoral ministry in Southampton. After a short spell pastoring in the North East of England David arrived in Scotland in 2011 to pastor Strathaven Evangelical Church. In 2023 David took a 3 month break from pastoral ministry at Strathaven Evangelical Church and in October started work with 20Schemes. David is currently working with 20Schemes to plant a church in Govan, Glasgow. Throughout David’s ministry he has maintained his heart for mission. This has led him to work with church leaders in Angola to set up a Modular Bible Course to train and equip new and existing church leaders. David has also been involved for many years with Christianity Explored Ministries. David met Diane, from Northern Ireland, at Bible College and they have two sons, Joel and Matthew, two daughters in law, and 4 grandchildren.

David Andrew is the Editor of Sword, an evangelical magazine which seeks to ‘restore the confidence of God’s people in the Word of God and the God of the Word’. He maintains that “…if God has put it on His page, we need to do something with it. There is no redundant Scripture. Only a whole Bible provides the whole truth.” A decade in editorial journalism with multinational engineering companies gradually fused with Christian ministry as David’s two pastoral charges, one Congregational, one independent, led him to accept the invitation to join Dr Clifford Hill in Bedford as Managing Editor of what was then Prophecy Today magazine. In 2003, David followed Cliff as Editor and, upon moving back to Scotland in 2004 to support an elderly mother, subsequently re-branded the magazine as Sword to reflect a perceived need to combat growing apostasy and encourage in the church a high view of God’s Word – a significant direction change from the previous focus on the ‘state of the nation’.David and his wife Agnes are members of Bellshill Baptist Church and live in Lanarkshire. Frequent preaching and conference speaking enable him to keep the magazine ‘earthed’ in the wider Christian community. They have two daughters, one married and three grandchildren. He holds an honours degree in theology from Edinburgh and a distinction level qualification in English Language teaching from St Andrews. Family life and music easily account for any leisure time.

Gavino is from the island of Sardinia. Married and with four children, his main hobby is road cycling. He studied for three years in IBEI (a Christian Bible College based in Rome), followed by three years at the Free Church Seminary in Inverness and then three years at the Highland Theological College in Dingwall. He served as a minister in different congregations in the North of Scotland and in Edinburgh before working for three years as a missionary in a church planting ministry in the north of Italy. Gavino is currently the minister of the Free Church of Scotland congregation in Evanton, north of Inverness.

Tony is a missionary / evangelist to those caught in New Religious Movements, especially Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons. As a former JW, he is keen to help Christians share the truth in love with those trapped in falsehood. He works with Reachout Trust and is a member of the Association of Evangelists. He has served as co-Pastor of Sunbridge Road Mission in Bradford and before that was a Teacher of Religious Education and School Chaplain.Tony is married to Cath and they have three children.

Steve Osmond was trained in the sciences and earned his MSc cum laude in Zoology from the University of Johannesburg where he specialised in ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment. He has run his own environmental consulting business for several years, focussing on specialist assessments for biomonitoring and exploration studies, as well as managing a marine biosecurity consultancy. Along with his passion for the natural world, he also has a love for theology and exploring the connections between faith and reason, and how Christianity makes sense of the world and answers life’s big questions. He has spent several years in church ministry where he has been involved in pastoral ministry and creating training programmes for discipleship in theology and apologetics, as well as having spoken evangelistically at churches and universities in South Africa. Steve holds a MA in Apologetics & Theology from Southern Evangelical Seminary (North Carolina, USA) Steve moved to Scotland from South Africa in 2023 with his wife, Robyn, and two daughters, Olivia and Hazel. He currently works full time for Solas Centre For Public Christianity.

David comes from Northern Ireland where he was born into a Christian home. After completing his A Levels he went to work in the East End of London with one-parent families and alcoholic vagrants. On returning to Ulster he joined what has since become the Royal Irish Regiment of the British Army. He married Pearl and enjoyed a glorious year in European Bible Institute, near Paris. On their return to his home country he entered the Irish Baptist College and Queen’s University, Belfast. Philip, their son, was also born. Then, after successfully completing his course, he came to Scotland in 1987, and recently retired having served churches in Paisley, Girvan and Maybole in Ayrshire, and latterly in Kirckaldy, Fife from where he recently retired.. During this time in ministry he also continued further University post-graduate studies. He has had the privilege of preaching the Word of God throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, France, Romania, United States, Nigeria and Israel. His emphasis throughout his ministry is to be faithful to the preaching of God’s Word, the upbuilding and teaching of the saints, and the salvation of precious souls.

David Randall is the minister of Falkirk Free Church, having previously served as pastor of the Bo’ness and Newmilns Church of Scotland congregations. Prior to entering the ministry, David worked in accountancy in the oil industry in Aberdeen. He’s married to Linnea, and they have 4 children. He likes to keep fit by running, and by playing football with his children.

Adele is a Consultant Occupational Physician who has worked across the UK, including mission and humanitarian aid organisations. For 17 years she was Executive Editor of the remote learning MSc programme for Occupational Medicine at Manchester University. Her part-time theology studies reflected mission interest and research into mental health and Christian identity. She is a voluntary drugs educator for Hope UK and pro-life groups, part of the PRIME tutor network, anti-trafficking groups and a Board of Reference member for the Scottish Council of Human Bioethics.

Ben studied Genetics at the University of Sheffield and Theology at the Wales Evangelical School of Theology in Bryntirion, South Wales. He has served in a variety of ministry contexts in the UK and overseas and is currently exploring research interests in the challenges posed to faith and religion by secular multiculturalism. Based in St Andrews, he enjoys walking his dogs on the local beaches.

Sandy, as he is known, has retired from parish ministry, having served four local congregations in Scotland and England, as well as being Senior Evangelist at Cliff College, the Methodist centre for evangelism and mission, the National Adviser in Religion to the Scottish Prison Service and the Principal of The Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh. Sandy has a special love for and interest in church history and evangelistic preaching and exercises a national and international Bible teaching ministr

Paul James-Griffiths is the founder and director of Christian Heritage Edinburgh, Soul of Scotland Tours and Street Cafe. He has been a missionary since 1988, leading many teams and is a writer. He has a B.A. in ancient history from the University of Leicester, and a P.G.C.E. from the University of London. He is married to Isolde, a singing-missionary. They have three children and four grandchildren. Since 2014, he has been the director of Christian Heritage Edinburgh and Soul of Scotland Tours.
