From day one, it has been our passion to make good Bible teaching and biblically based training accessible to as many people as possible, convinced that it should not be only available to those who are privileged enough to study full-time and attend a Bible College. Currently, all our teaching is done online, so wherever you live – either here in the UK or, like some of our current students in Canada, America, and elsewhere – you can still study with EBC. We have been experimenting with virtual classrooms over Zoom since before the COVID lockdowns and have learned how to use them to our advantage. We believe our approach enables us to offer students all-round training and equipping for Christian living and ministry, taking advantage of the opportunities afforded by technology while holding on to the need for hands-on experience and in-person mentoring where necessary.

Study Goals |

Personal Growth

  • Many students, like Anne, have no desire for an award or qualification but want to deepen their knowledge of God and Scripture.
  • Anne enjoys studying various biblical and doctrinal modules in a group setting, choosing from the College’s curriculum or scheduled programme.

Preparation for Ministry

  • Other students, like Ryan, aim to work towards academic awards to respond to God’s call for Christian ministry.
  • Ryan attends virtual classes, completes assignments, and accumulates study credits. He also gains practical experience through mentored placements within his home church.

Study Credits and Awards |

Diploma in Applied Theology

Requires 240 study credits.Core course structured around four theological disciplines i.e biblical, systematic, historical.

Diploma in Theology

Requires 240 study credits.Similar to the Applied Theology course but without the mentored elements.

Certificate in Biblical Studies

Requires 120 study credits.Can be earned by accumulating credits across various modules

Certificate in Expository Preaching

Requires 120 study credits.Focuses on preaching and teaching with mentored training in sermon preparation and delivery.

Study credits are calculated based on study hours: Each lecture unit involves 1 hour of teaching and 2 hours of personal study, totaling 3 study hours. The total number of study hours for a module is divided by 10 to convert to study credits. For example, a module with 20 units equals 60 study hours, which equals 6 study credits.

Study Routes |

E Learning

  • Access course materials from EBC’s online learning hub.
  • Submit assignments via email for assessment.
  • Study at your own pace with no deadlines.
  • Minimal interaction with lecturers as desired.
  • Simple registration process with a one-off, non-refundable registration fee of £20.

Virtual Classrooms

  • Attend live classes over Zoom as scheduled.
  • Classes are recorded for later viewing.
  • Simple registration process with a one-off, non-refundable registration fee of £20.

Study Costs |

E Learning

Cost per study credit: £20 (includes recordings of zoom classes; without recordings cost is £15 per study credit) Example: Certificate (120 study credits) = £1,800, Diploma (240 study credits) = £3,600.

Audited Virtual Classrooms

3 study credits: £70. 6 study credits: £140. Approximately £7.00 per hour of lecture. Fees are paid at the start of the module.

Assessed Virtual Classrooms

3 study credits: £100. 6 study credits: £200. Approximately £10.00 per hour of lecture. Fees are paid on a module-by-module basis at the start of each module. Example: Certificate (120 study credits) = £4,000, Diploma (240 study credits) = £8,000.

Written Work Requirements

  • 3 or 5 credits: ~ 1,000 words.
  • 6 credits: ~ 1,500 words.
  • 12 credits: ~ 3,000 words.
  • 18 credits: ~ 4,500 words.
  • 24 credits: ~ 6,000 words.
