The landscape of theological education has changed, often raising academic bars so high that effective workers are excluded. Edinburgh Bible College believes that the stark reality of modern ministry requires a different approach. We refuse to let secular accrediting universities determine who is fit for the Kingdom’s work. Our only entrance requirement for full-time study is a clear and credible Christian testimony, ensuring that passion for the lost and a heart for God take precedence over traditional academic qualifications.
We live in a broken world where many faithful believers carry “chequered” pasts or have faced difficult circumstances like divorce. Unfortunately, legalistic barriers often prevent these individuals from receiving the training they need. At EBC, we see no biblical warrant for declining an opportunity to learn based on past struggles. Instead, we believe that those who have been restored by grace are often the best equipped to reach the marginalized and share the healing power of the gospel with others in similar situations.
Bible training is not exclusively for those pursuing titles such as preacher, missionary, or evangelist. We welcome quiet, thoughtful believers who simply want to serve the Lord more effectively in their own communities and workplaces. Whether you have a specific “call to ministry” or just a hunger to understand the Scriptures, our doors are open. We reject the idea that theological study is a closed club for the elite, choosing instead to empower every member of the body of Christ to grow in spiritual wisdom.
Our accessible model allows for the discovery of spiritual gifts that might otherwise remain dormant. By removing the pressure of intense application processes for our part-time and online courses, we create a space where students can explore their faith without fear. Many who initially joined us with no ambition for leadership have found themselves gently encouraged into roles they never imagined. We exist to help every student—regardless of their background or initial goals—to be more effective in whatever capacity God eventually calls them to serve.
