Handing on the baton…

The key moment in any relay race is the handing on of the baton from one runner to another. With that in view, the Board of Edinburgh Bible College are very pleased to announce the appointment of Ramone McKenzie to succeed the current principal John Brand as he stands down.  For the past six months Ramone has been working alongside John, ‘learning the ropes’ while operating as Vice-Principal.

The Board are enthusiastically unanimous in appointing Ramone as Principal from February 1st 2026. John will continue to serve, but this time in the role of Academic Dean of the College working alongside Ramone.  The Board extends a warm welcome to Ramone as the new Principal and its thanks to John who has served as Principal unstintingly since the College was founded in 2012.

Ramone currently serves as an elder of the Kirkcaldy Baptist Fellowship in Fife, alongside Rev David Greenaway. Ramone holds a Bachelor in Theology (BTh) and has recently completed his Master’s degree (MRes) in Scottish Church History. He is excited to be taking up the role of EBC Principal and using his ministry gifts and training.  He says, “I have found working alongside John Brand a blessing, but the job has its challenges. I look forward to taking the work of the College forward in 2026 and beyond”

EBC was established under John Brand’s leadership, by a group of church leaders who saw a need for a grass roots, church based, strongly biblical training facility.  EBC graduates are now serving in several different countries around the world and there are currently some 45 registered students, about a third of whom are studying by distance learning and the others by involvement in online virtual classrooms.  Our Diploma students are mentored by their local church leaders.  Details of study options and courses available can be found on the College website at www.edinburghbiblecollege.co.uk
