Flexible Study with EBC

From the very beginning, our goal at EBC has been to make our teaching and training available to as many people as possible, which is why one of our key distinctives is our FLEXIBLE approach.   Even before the lockdowns of five years ago we were experimenting with hybrid classes and using zoom.  Since then we have moved everything online and the clear advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.  Few people these days have the privilege, the opportunity or the finance to give up work and study full-time, but that shouldn’t prevent people being trained for service and ministry, or just getting to know their Bibles better.  All our students are part-time, to one degree or another and we want to encourage others to join us.

For example, you can study by eLearning.

Most of our courses are available to be followed by simply downloading course materials from out virtual learning hub, doing the work, and, if you wish to gain study credits, submitting assignments.  There are no deadlines, so you can work at your own pace and fit it in around you other activities and commitments.  There are currently 20 subjects available for eLearning and we can quickly add more to the list if the subject you want is not available yet.

Or you can join one of our Virtual Classrooms

All our taught classes are held over zoom, allowing students to join from anywhere in the world.  We have developed ways to make these classes as interactive as possible and have made the format work well for us.  The full autumn 2025 schedule will be published in a couple of weeks and there is a simple registration process.

All of this can be done Part Time

All of our students study in this way, several of them taking one or two days a week off work to enable them to do so.   We have classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings and we make a special point of gearing our schedule around Wednesdays as the day when we focus on those taking time off work, so if you wanted to do some serious study and could arrange to devote one day a week for study, Wednesday would be the best day to choose.  This coming College year, on Wednesdays we will be studying Bible Interpretation, the Pastoral Letters and one other subject yet to be confirmed.

We are confident, and have a track record in doing so, that we can put together a programme individually tailored for anyone who wants to study with us.  If you would be interested in finding out more there is some information here or you can email us at info@edinburghbiblecollege.co.uk

Our New Vice Principal

Today is arguably the most important date in the life of EBC since the work was begun back in August 2012.  Today we are delighted to welcome on board our new Vice Principal, Pastor Ramone McKenzie as he begins a six month period of working in tandem with our Principal, John Brand, with a view to taking over from John in February 2026.  John and Ramone will be working closely together over these months and we commend this important transition period to you for your prayers

August Praise and Prayer

Our August Praise and Prayer Powerpoint is now available to download here.  We produce this each month as a brief prayer prompter and are grateful for the individuals who use it faithfully.  Could you make use of it on a regular basis, or perhaps get your church to include it in a prayer meeting or Sunday service once a month?   If you want to get it sent automatically to you, just let us know.  Email info@edinburghbiblecollege.co.uk
