New Board Member

We’re delighted to welcome Mr Nigel Kenny to the College Board which is responsible for the governance and oversight of the work. Nigel is Scotland Officer for The Christian Institute and prior to that practised law for twenty years. He is married to Anne and they have two children. Nigel came to faith in Christ shortly before leaving school and as a student benefited greatly from the preaching of Eric Alexander at the Tron Church in Glasgow. This gave him a lifelong appreciation of expository preaching and he obtained a Certificate in Oral Bible Exposition from Cornhill Scotland in 2010. Through his role at the CI he regularly preaches in churches all over Scotland. He has been involved in church leadership for many years and is currently a trustee of Greenview Church in Glasgow, where he and his family worship.

We believe this is the biggest and best programme we’ve yet put together, with a great line-up of gifted teachers, and remember that ANYONE can come to ANY advertised course at EBC. You can see the full details here and download a pdf here. Why not take a look and see what you could study this autumn?

Bible in a Day

The Bible in a Day seminar, written and presented by EBC’s Principal, Rev John Brand, has been well received in a number of churches in the UK and will be held again at EBC in the coming weeks.
The seminar is designed to give you a good grasp of the whole Bible, identifying the unifying theme of the Scriptures and seeing how all the various parts interconnect. It is interactive, with lots of opportunity for questions and discussion, and full notes and a folder are supplied to all who attend. You can find out more about the Bible in a Day seminar here, at the designated website.
John will be presenting the seminar on Saturday 13th October at Edinburgh Bible College, 39 Greendykes Road, BROXBURN EH52 5AF
The seminar runs from about 10.00 – 5.00 and costs just £25
You can just turn up for the day, but in order to make sure we have the right amount of folders and materials it would be helpful to us if you could register using the form below.

EBC is Growing and Moving!
This past week the College Board approved a recommendation from the staff that we move the College base in Wester Hailes to Broxburn, just outside the city. For the past five years we have been based on the premises of Wester Hailes Baptist Church on the western side of Edinburgh and we are grateful to the leadership and congregation for hosting us in that time. However, we strongly believe the time is right for us to move slightly west so that, as well as continuing to maintain and develop links with Edinburgh churches, we can also extend our reach to West Lothian, Lanarkshire and parts of Stirlingshire and make ourselves more accessible to churches in those areas.
We will be partnering with Grace Community Church in Broxburn, where our Principal is the Pastor, and based on their premises in the centre of the town. We are grateful to them for strongly endorsing this move and look forward to working closely with them as we continue to fulfil our goal: to prepare God’s people for God’s purposes.
Our new address, with immediate effect, is 39 Greendykes Road, BROXBURN EH52 5AF. All our web-based contact details remain exactly the same, and out temporary telephone number is 07722 484742
New Lecturers at EBC
We are thrilled to be adding this immensely gifted and experienced couple to our team of lecturers at EBC.

Adrian and Heather Holdsworth will both be having a significant input into our new Advanced Ministry Apprenticeship Programme which Adrian designed and which launches this autumn. Adrian has also joined our College Board and you can find out more about both of them here and here.
New Testament Manuscripts
In recent months we have been privileged to have teaching input from Dr Elijah Hixson, a New Testament scholar. Next Thursday, 21st June, Elijah is going to lead a special one-off seminar on the importance and significance of the New Testament manuscripts. We are making this seminar open to anyone who is interested. It is from 11am to 1pm and there is no charge. Please feel free to just turn up.
