New Trustee

We are delighted to welcome Rev Dr John Toller as a new Trustee and member of our Board of Directors.

John is from Dundee and came to faith while at school. He went on to study History at Dundee University, where he did a PhD and lectured for three years. He was called to the pastorate of Carnoustie Baptist Church, at that time a recent plant from Dundee Central Baptist, initially studying concurrently at the Scottish Baptist College in Paisley. He has served in Carnoustie since 2012, and is also involved as chaplain to the local football club. John is married to Jemma and they have three children.

We are indebted to all of our Trustees who freely and generously give of their wisdom, experience and time to provide governance for the College and support for the team.

New Board Member

We’re delighted that Rev Dr David Greenaway is rejoining the College’s Board of Trustees.   David, who recently retired from the pastorate at Pathhead Baptist Church in Kirkcaldy, Fife,  was one of the founding  Board members of EBC back in 2012 and also served as Chairman for a time.  We are grateful to him for once again giving us his support and involvement in this way and commend him and the other Board members to you for your prayers as they oversee and direct the work of the College.

Comings and Goings

This week saw two major changes to EBC’s Board of Directors.

First we reluctantly accepted the resignation of Greig Ferguson, Pastor of Yoker Evangelical Church. Greig has decided to stand down because of growing ministry commitments and, while thanking him for his contribution to the work of the College in recent years, we commend him and his ministry to the Lord.

Then we welcomed Rev Gavino Fioretti, Minister of Evanton Free Church, to the Board. Gavino has taught a couple of modules at the College which have been very well received and we are delighted at this new level of involvement.

We Welcome a New EBC Director

We’re delighted to welcome a new member to our Board of Directors, and especially so because he is our first EBC Graduate to join the Board.

Pastor Joe Brown graduated with a Diploma in Theology in 2017, after which he served as Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Perth before moving to N Ireland in the summer of 2022 to become Pastor of Larne Congregational Church. We are immensely grateful to him and the other members of the Board for their input, time and prayers in directing the work of the College.

New EBC Board Member

EBC is governed by and accountable to local churches through our Board of Directors which is made up of leaders of evangelical churches and we’re delighted to welcome Pastor David Childs as a new member of the Board.

David grew up in the South East of England in a Christian home. In his early twenties God led him to Africa with African Inland Mission as a Mechanical Engineer to help with the maintenance on a mission station in Central African Republic.

This marked a turning point in the direction his life would now take.

On his return he headed to Bible College followed by 10 years pastoral ministry in Southampton. After a short spell pastoring in the North East of England David arrived in Scotland in 2011 to pastor Strathaven Evangelical Church.

Throughout David’s ministry he has maintained his heart for mission. Never one to be content with theory, he has been working with some church leaders in Angola to establish a leadership training program.

David met Diane, from Northern Ireland, at Bible College and they have two sons, Joel and Matthew, and more recently two daughters in law, and 3 grandchildren.

David has a passion for, and a track record in, discipling, mentoring and training and we are sure he will prove a great asset to the College.
