Memorising Scripture

One of the most important but neglected of the spiritual disciplines, certainly here in the west, must be that of memorising Scripture, yet it is one that, as well as an act of worship to God, is of immense benefit for our individual lives and ministries.

Our Academic Dean, John Brand, is hosting a very practical webinar on the subject next Monday evening, June 29th, from 7.30pm.   There will be no charge for this one-off webinar, all you have to do is register here.

Revelation in a Day

Next Thursday, 28th May, our Academic Dean, John Brand, will be hosting our fifth FREE ‘In a Day’ webinar, this time on Revelation. Starting at 9. 30am and going through until about 4.00pm, John will open up Revelation, giving you the keys to interpret this apocalyptic prophecy and how to make sense of the various views that are held, but focussing on ‘the wood’ rather than ‘the trees’, so to speak.

As usual, this webinar is free, but registration is essential and can be done here. John has written a 35 page outline commentary of Revelation which we will provide free of charge to all who register.

2 Timothy

Free Webinar: 2 Timothy in a Day

The fourth in our series of free webinars is scheduled for Thursday 30th April when experienced Bible preacher and teacher, EBC’s Academic Dean, John Brand will open up 2 Timothy, Paul’s last recorded letter in our New Testaments.

If you can’t stay with us for the whole day, join us for as much as you are able to and then you can get access to the whole recording of the webinar.

The webinar runs from 9.30am – 4.00pm with appropriate breaks and is completely free. A small study guide is available at cost price and a number of people find these helpful for following the study and making their own notes. Registration is now available here.

EBC Webinars: Lessons Learned from a Life of Preaching

You are invited to join our preaching students for a special EBC preaching webinar where we learn from an experienced and gifted preacher who has spent a lifetime in ministry. Seasoned and experienced preachers, as well as aspiring preachers, will benefit greatly from the godly wisdom.

Rev. Gareth Burke was ordained in 1984 and ministered in three Evangelical Presbyterian Church congregations, all in Belfast.   Now retired from pastoral ministry, he still exercises a wide preaching ministry.

The webinar is on Tuesday 17th March from 8.00 – 9.00pm and is open to anyone.  We are not charging for this webinars, but please let us know if you plan to join and we will send you the relevant zoom link.  Email: john.brand@edinburghbiblecollege.co.uk

EBC Webinars: Esther in a Day

“Excellent”, “exceptionally brilliant”, “enormously helpful, and certainly the clearest and most detailed explanation of this most important book that I have ever heard, particularly in such a short timescale”.  These were some of the responses received after our first monthly webinar last week when John Brand taught through Romans in a Day.   Study booklets are still available for £6.50 (inc p&p) and a recording is available here.

We are now looking forward to our second monthly webinar on Thursday 26th February, from 9.30am,  when John will be teaching through the book of Esther in a day.  One of only two books in the Bible in which the name of God is not mentioned, Esther is not only a dramatic and powerful historical record but is full of lessons about God’s providence and purposes, not only on the national and international scene, but also in individual lives.  There will be opportunities for asking questions as we go through the day.

Once again, there is NO CHARGE for the webinar, but registration is essential and can be done here. We have produced a small study booklet to accompany the day, with brief notes and space to add your own notes, and this is now available for £5.50 inc p&p.  You can order it when you register or by emailing us.

We would love you to join us for this webinar and would also be grateful if you would make it as widely known as possible.
