Recently, Rev Andy Longwe, a member of Edinburgh Bible College’s Board of Trustee, preached a powerful and timely sermon on Psalm 46 at College devotions. Since it is deserving of a much wider audience, with Andy’s permission, I commend the message to you. Andy is a Minister of the Free Church of Scotland and recently moved to London to become minister of their London City Presbyterian Church congregation.
School For Preachers

EBC Principal, Pastor John Brand, writes, “This morning I had the great joy and privilege of leading the first in a series of seminars on preaching for this group of men who hail from the north of Scotland, the south of England and several places in between. What a delight!” If you would be interested in joining this monthly online seminar, let us know.
New Board Member
At the quarterly meeting of our Board of Directors, today, followed by the AGM, we were delighted to welcome a new Board member, Dr Adele Pilkington.

Adele is a Consultant Occupational Physician who has worked across the UK, including mission and humanitarian aid organisations. For 17 years she was Executive Editor of the remote learning MSc programme for Occupational Medicine at Manchester University. Her part-time theology studies reflected mission interest and research into mental health and Christian identity. She is a voluntary drugs educator for Hope UK and pro-life groups, part of the PRIME tutor network, anti-trafficking groups and a Board of Reference member for the Scottish Council of Human Bioethics.
We are so grateful to Adele and all of our Board members who give of their time and experience so freely to support and advance the work of the College. You can find out who is on the Board here.
Expository Preaching
The faithful and passionate preaching and teaching of Scripture is at the heart of everything the EBC student is trained for.

In this 18 week course, two hours per week, EBC’s Principal, Pastor John Brand, will guide you through the process of preparing and preaching or teaching a message based on a passage of Scripture. Even with more than 40 years’ experience of preaching and many years of training preachers, he can’t make anyone a preacher, but we can help you develop a gift that God has given you.

New Testament Overview

Becoming familiar with the whole Bible appears a rather daunting task, but this course is designed to help you make all the relevant connections and discover the big, redemptive, storyline. In this part of the course we work our way, book-by-book, through the New Testament identifying the key verse, structure and theme of each book and identifying its place in the big story-line of the Bible.
A great way to really get to know your Bible – all of it!

Church History

The purpose of church history was expressed like this by a master in the field, Johann August Wilhelm Neander (1789-1850):
“To exhibit the history of the church of Christ as a living witness to the divine power of Christianity; as a school of Christian experience; a voice sounding through the ages, of instruction, of doctrine, and of rebuke, for all who are disposed to listen.”
It is, surely, one of the most important and interesting subjects that we study.
Led by our expert guide, Rev Dr Sandy Roger, this 18 week module will
- trace the history of the Church from Pentecost to the present
- assess our evangelical heritage throughout the history of the Church
- explain the emergence of theological positions throughout Church history
- describe the emergence of the major branches of Christianity today
