Encourage one another

We appreciate encouragement as much as anyone and were truly encouraged to receive these comments in the last few days:

“I received this wonderful encouragement after preaching today from a sister in the Lord. But I wanted to share it with you too to encourage your heart also, because a lot of it is down to the fantastic teaching and training I received from yourself over the past 6 months in homiletics and hermeneutics. So I just want to thank you for blessing me and blessing our congregation by helping me to handle and deliver the Word of God. “ (Ryan)

“A day in studying Gods Word and delving into the word in a easy to follow way and  to be blessed.” (Callum)

“This is the first time I have attended one of the EBC ‘All Day’ lectures. For myself, it was a day well spent ; thought-provoking ; edifying ; and well presented.  I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending these to everyone able to attend.” (Nigel)

“Thank you for doing these courses.   These webinars give you a good sound introduction to the meaning and content of the book being discussed. They encourage you to dig deeper and gain a truthful understanding of Scripture.” (Iain)

Soli Deo Gloria!

EBC Webinars

Last week we held our third FREE ‘In A Day’ webinar when John Brand took an enthusiastic group of people through Leviticus. The full recording of that webinar is now available.

Among the comments we received after the webinar were these:

“A day in studying Gods Word and delving into the word in a easy to follow way and  to be blessed.”

“This is the first time I have attended one of the EBC ‘All Day’ lectures by John Brand.

For myself, it was a day well spent ; thought-provoking ; edifying ; and well presented.

I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending these to everyone able to attend.”

The next ‘In a Day’ webinar is on Thursday 30 April, from 9.30 and on that day we will be going through 2 Timothy. Registration is now open here.

Faith Finance Accounting

We want to give a big shout out to this new ministry venture run by Sheena Nelson, the wife of Mark, one of John’s former students. Sheena is now looking after the day to day handling of EBC’s finances and accounts and we are immensely grateful to her for doing so.

We’ll let her introduce herself:

“I moved to Scotland from the South of Ireland over 20 years ago and have spent much of my life actively involved in Christian ministry. My training and work with The Faith Mission gave me a strong, practical understanding of how Christian organisations operate and the real-world financial and administrative challenges ministries face.

“As a pastor’s wife, I have first-hand experience of the realities of church leadership and the vital role that clear, reliable financial support plays behind the scenes. I understand the pressures leaders carry and the importance of stewardship that is both faithful and compliant.

“Alongside family life and ministry, I completed my honours degree in Business Management Accounting in 2024, bringing together up-to-date professional expertise with a genuine heart for serving churches.

“Through Faith Finance Accounting, my aim is to offer clear, honest, and supportive accounting for churches, grounded in integrity, good stewardship, and a heart for God’s work.”

Faith Finance Accounting can help Christian workers, organisations and churches with the following services at incredibly competitive prices:

  • Independent Examinations for churches and Christian organisations
  • Self-assessment tax returns
  • Bookkeeping and year-end accounts
  • Payroll including payslip preparation and HMRC submissions

Leviticus In A Day

Our third FREE monthly seminar will take place on Thursday 26th March when John Brand will guide us through Leviticus in a Day.

Commentator Gordon Wenham writes, “Leviticus used to be the first book that Jewish children studied in the synagogue.   In the modern Church it tends to be the last part of the Bible anyone looks at seriously.”  In general, Christians are put off this book because of the details regarding rituals and sacrifices and because they can’t easily see the relevance for today.  Howevere, John will show us how much our appreciation of the work of Christ and the Gospel is deepened and enriched by becoming familiar with this book.

Once again, there is NO CHARGE for the webinar, but registration is essential and can be done here. We will again make available a small study booklet to accompany the day, with brief notes and space to add your own notes.  If you are not able to join the webinar live, a full recording will be available shortly afterwards.

We would love you to join us for this webinar and would also be grateful if you would make it as widely known as possible.
